I just saw a commericial to help the children in the world who have aids. it was a good one and if a speeding ticket had not put my bank account to zero I would have contributed. but this is not a complaint but an observation. there were a lot of anorexic actresses asking for help one all most wishes the charity included helping anorexics. it is distressing to watching movies or television and hoping in the next scene has the anorexics in the movie eating a burger. well I am fat so my body needs less burgers.

I am a radical when it comes to political and social beliefs, but with illegal immigration and bilingualism I fight to have reasonable belief and not fascist ones. I grew 1st generation American in the barrio and it was tough. Had my father not been an NCO and later worked for the post office and my parents stayed together my life would have been a brief episode of Cops. I would have known the true meaning of trailer trash.

The problem with illegal immigration does not lie with the immigrant. But with the massive business structure that surround the hiring and moving of the immigrant into the country. These people are not nice and many are mob bosses. the simple way to end illegal immigration is for big business to return factories to America. Get the American worker their jobs back and to have Big business and Us government open across the border offices and in Asia to sponsor people who qualify for the need to immigrate for special jobs that pay lower for the first five years, but then allow full green card status. This should allow the us government to track the immigrants concerning breaking the law and having them sign pledge for no signing up for assistance for the first five years.

What makes us children of WW2 immigrants angry at liberals that they want to give illegal immigrants a free ride. to get into America even at the turn of the century one needed sponsorship of a church, company, relation who had a residency or citizenship. At WW2 when people were starving immigrants waited for years in refugee camps for sponsorship into any country. Also the immigrants needed to sign a pledge not to apply for public assistance for 10 years. So to complain about how bad illegals have it they have it as bad as thieves and drug addicts and other lawbreakers. They are Illegal entrants in this country and not immigrants.

Well I tried to be reasonable I know that the poor are not to blame for their poverty, but even in America there is no free ride..

No politician is ever going to admit what happened to the 2 trillion surplus we had at the end of the Clinton reign.....But because of that surplus I know Hillary knows what it takes to get the US out of debt. Obama was a one term senator He has no experience on Capitol Hill. Nothing with working to get the Us out of debt. I do not believe that he has the toughness to deal with what Bush, his oil cronies and the evangelicals have done to America.

I like to get on the Poem of the Week because though I am a poet I rarely read or by other poets books. I have read Steinbeck early poems and Robert Frosts those I enjoyed but I am not impressed by TS Elliot. In my heart I prefer more baroque poets like Coleridge and Donne, Blake I have only read a minuscule amount but I wish to buy some more collections of his works. Yeats is a God and so is Rumi. As a child my father had an rare old book of Omar Kayain's ( if misspelled forgive me). It seems to me that the minimalism so popular and returning again in art is truly an excuse for sloppy art because as my dad used to say if it is good then you don't need a critic to talk you into liking the art.

I am not one to think that Americans are inherently stupid, because push come to shove the unwashed masses usually try to do the good deal. They are just not given the chance since the the Cold War and the Founding of the Industrial Military complex, it has been hard for the average American to receive even a decent education. In the 60's there were programs for the child with high IQ's but the rest wallowed in boring classes. I saw a video about Americans not knowing anything about anything but if someone had a camera in my face and said I being taped for television I might not be able to answer a question by simple human condition called being flustered( an old fashion word).

Americans are pretty smart they know the clock is ticking that for the working man 1890's are coming back...They just do not know what to do to stop it and unions are so corrupt that they and the worker have abandoned each other. Universities make more money off of foreign students that for the lower classes that opportunity of climbing into the middle-class is drying up.

I need to write something that I believe is traitorous but true Feminists need to stop blaming men for the stupidity of females and I mean the bubble headed blondes of the conservatives..I grew up working class and in the barrio and am mixed race I am a radical and proud of it ... I honestly believe that if you are working class male or female and a republican you are a fool and have allowed others to do your thinking for you. The problem with continuing to blame patriarchy is that we must start to blame the agents of patriarchy the mothers for their part in the raising of people so foolish that they would vote into office people that would murder their sons and daughters by proxy by starting a war and then make them feel good about the murder by pumping the soldiers family with empty phrases of national jingoism and religious elitism..The Sad thing is once you reach 18-years old male or female you need to learn how to think and how to think for your self or you spend your life as pathetic as Dear Rush regurgitating Dad's racism, sexism and classism while chug-a-lugging Hillbilly heroin.

The crux of the matter is we live in a country trapped by Mom and Dad's superstitions and hatred and worn out religion all the while to scared to let go of their love and regard and believe me they know how to manipulatie the little one to believe what family party line is...Or why do we have Mel Gibson saying that his father never told him an untruth.. Social Conservatives families raise their children to be naive and childlike to authority. Why because they are authoritarian? And to them indoctrination is the way to educate not learning knowledge. Knowledge gets you kicked out of pretty gardens. THe child's welfare is not important as much a the parents continued belief in the party line that they learned from their parents.

Even worse than intergenerational conservatives are the newly converted conservative.. but all these people believe that they can turn back the clock a return to simpler and nicer time by taking something away from someone with less power than them..Instead of realizing that they are scapegoating people,behavior or naively finding solutions to society's problems by restricting behavior(ususally of the female sex). Some of their solutions are absurd and scary.

While blithely believing that broken homes and a complex societal interactions will be fixed by a teenage girl signing a pledge and living in a modern harem until young amercan fascist can marry her and keep her in her place. One Wonders when the glow of purity balls fades and tarnishes if these young women will soon find harsher methods used to insure purity.. Like honor murder or attack here and there.

But I am exaggerating, I hope..I have always had a sneaking suspicion that social conservatives in the US always envied the radical conservatives of the Middle East..Nothing in watching their behavior has caused that suspicion to be allayed.

We are living in a time of crisis WE do not have time for fairy-tales of our parents..The rich and powerfull are evil, if simply for the fact that they refuse to accept hard truths and force humankind into a measure of responsibility starting with the people that made an obscene amount of wealth from the destruction of the environment.

Remember these people were born of women and women had input in the rearing of them..So IN this time of crises women must man the breaches and especially disabuse ourselves of fairytales of the past..we do not live in a time that we can raise children to believe in sloppy logic and fairytales. Nor can we teach them to assign blame to the powerless or simplistic thinking in face of the hard complex issues that need to be solved..The human race needs to grow up and get smart. Every individual needs to think for themselves or die because at this time if you snooze it will not be you but that small child or grandchild of yours that loses...What a terrrible legacy of destruction we will leave them..Just like one our parents left us that hampers and makes harder the cleaning up we need to do. Environmentalist were screeching at our parents and all that our parents did was teach us to hold them in contempt and call them tree Hugger..This alone should prove that those that taught us to be conservative were either too dumb to realize and/or neither particularly cared that the next generation would have live with the harm done to the planet. A generational truth about the true concerns of parents and the welfare of the child, in which a fairytale of destruction is more important and entertaining..Than the work of leaving ones children a planet they can live on and prosper. It is more important to force an Abused deity to peform a cosmic miracle than to leave ones children with enough clean air, water and wildlife to survive..The height of selfishness from the family values set.

I was a coming downstairs to see how my husband is doing, he had surgery on tiuwsday and was being kept up by the pain.. I heard the news on Cnn stating that bags of potatoe chips had been sent to the Usa laced with poison an acid, but also others. I know that I am a small brained Savannah female, but is it not dangerous to place in the hands of a foreign country the manufacture of ones food. It seems also dangerous to use a country that is Idealogically at war with a Capitalist country like the USA. But that is just a Observation I guess corporate america and the president know better.. Or maybe the population of the world is such that a little thinning of the herd from contaminated food is not something ,the Powers that be, care about.
I see something that might be disturbing to the Chinese elite. It looks as though the proletriant paradise is producing good little worker bees that seem to be taking a great deal of enjoyment out of embarassing the politburo with product tampering,,,Maybe China is not that stable a financial investment..It seems even amongst the asians, working in sweatshops with sweatshop pay and conditions is not appreciated... I just got off of Philospher's playground and I started thinking about semantics and the difference brought up the naming of act like killing and murder..Murder connotates a crime where as killing can be anything from state execution to self defense..a generic catchall..Like calling the murder of a young woman an honor killing instead of an honor murder as if it is parental discipline taken a tad to far..As though parental massacre is ridiculous and some teenagers are vexing enough to kill. As though young women are family property to do with and thus it cannot be murdered if a family kills one. It is like calling Domestic Violence, spousal abuse and not spousal attack..Attack is direct and shows premeditation, abuse gives the picture kicking the wife around like an old shoe or dog... something one carelessly does to ones property..Not something one should do but if it happens no big deal..With the term abuse comes the unconscious judgement, of what the vicitm did or why the victim allowed it..Not the truth that the prepatrator at that moment spurriously attacked a supposed loved..Abuse allows those effected to wallow in blaming the victim. Whereas No one really ever asks to be attacked.

Another site a British cop female of course gave a satirical and cynical manual on what a victim must do to get a rape conviction, being a trained rape crisis center worker I can say the satire is dead on right. Well I went to the gym this week after not working due strenuous volunteer work.. I found that Fox News is still catering to paranoids and that obese people have a Virus that makes them fat on CNN. It was a miracle the announcer looked as though he had an AHA moment in which a Prejudice Paradigm switched and Compassion entered for fat people I love seeing that on the News those quiet AHA annoucement no ponderous sermonizing or a saw the light witnessesing but a simple change in spoken attitude..It made getting to the gym at 5 in the morning worth it/

The English Patient and class ethos...

I saw the English Patient today for the first time I tried the watch it yesterday on cable but decided to rent for a more closer viewing as I was watching it with my husband and we like to make cogent observations about films when we watch them..and the English patient is a film that needs to be watched the first time closely or in the isolation of a dark theater.

The first observation of my husband was what were all these upper class blokes doing in the desert. My comment was that back then rich trust fund babies were usefull as they had time on their hands and could explore things and map them unfortunately Satellites have destroyed this use of rich folks. Now young Upper class blokes trowl the titty bars(excuse me Gentlemen Clubs) instead of the sahara or the congo or the amazon.

I did like the movie even if it was depressing..unlike Elaine I did enjoy it.
But romantically the upper class romance was over the top and overdramatic and a bit cheesy...The people I related to were the soldiers the nurse Hana and the bomb detail members and Willem Defoe's character reminded me of a family member..I found their lives and their tragedies the most moving and the most beautiful..It seemed as though the WAr and its daily horror bonded these people so closely and yet with the final grateful end of victory comes the end of that bond..With relief comes the time to remember, comes the time to seperate, life for these characters will never be the same.. The count and Katherine are the death of the old world order of aristocrats and their supposedly noble endeavours..The count dies and with him the dramatic and entitled love..Hana suicides him for he and his character are no longer relevant in the post war europe..Hungary will lose its counts and countesses to a proletariant world of communism..Hana and her small friends are the future..The count and the Cliftons are the past..IN the fiery crucible of WW2 the colonial world of Britain is destroyed and the Noble largesse of the English Patient and his love disappear...Why is it that goings on of our betters always seems more romantic and more dramatic..Their sufferings more tragic and their motivations more noble...

Shading their stories with what the Man wants on paper..COme on Yellow journalism was born and bred in america...A Blogger will tell you honestly what their political leanings are and do not pretend hypocritically that they are sancrosant and unmoved by political or financial agendas. The press cannot even come close to such honesty...

I was proud to be american to be born here, Now I realize that the help of my Goddess and a accident of tragic luck. None my good fortune now that has occured because of my ex-political beliefs and of ex-friends and family. For if they had their way being another Vet under the Freeway overpass would have been my fate..I think that they would relish the sympathy of that. Than having to accept the fact that getting federal help for a disability service connected is easing a leftist liberal ingrate.. Conservatives love to wave the Flag tell people how patriotic they are, but when it comes to raising the salary of soldier or the fact they always are working to limit Veteran Benefits they are not infused with generosity even should I imply christian charity ...A few months ago I read about a Vet that is being hunted in a military witch hunt because he wore his cammies at a protest, despite removing insignia which makes his uniform Illegal and not a uniform. Complaining a pundit of the right, groused about the fact that the VET was so ungrateful to Bush for his gift of camoflague wear(and a all paid trip to the middle east) the said vet should summarily lose all his Veteran Benefits..WE are so generous to our patriots, the freedom ain't free class, that now they have their wish Veteran's no longer have their freedom of speech for fear of not getting medical help.

Today I have reading about the live concert and how some people are wondering if it is a futile gesture towards helping Mama Earth..that it might not accomplish any thing...The thing about gesture metaphorical, political or literal is that they are things remembered later long in to the future by those who view it and at many times very effective on the ones that at the time were least able to do something about the problem being expounded by the gesture.

When I was young I remember a EArth DAy celebreation on the network TV channel I think it was ABC...It had all the newest stars Meryl streep and Beth Midler doing skits trying to reach middle america and give them the newest science about pollution and the destruction of the environment...So youngins if an oldster tells you they did not know about global warming and et al..when they voted for the trilogy of idiocy, REagan,Bush and Bush they are lying it was out there in prime time Family hour with with pretty Stars playing out skits that explained and made environmental science so family friendly even an evangelical could understand it..

I became an environmentalist because of it..Also the people who argue for using the Age old slash and burn technology of the past to develop the third world>Use such illogic in their arguments you wonder if they learned their debating skills at Liberty U.

Once again stories about Purity Balls are showing up in my environment..I have a big problem with this new custom that the fundies want society to embrace...The Idea that Purity can be coerced in teenage girls in pretend pseudo-incetous environment and bribing the girl with gold rings and princess ball gowns. At a time when these girls should going to proms with young men and learning how communicate with the male sex... these girls are dancing the night away with daddy and get pinned to daddy dearest....But seeing where this is coming from I am not very surprised at the emotional incest being perpetrated with these girls and their fathers.

IN the mid- 80's I was in the recovery movement in Los Angeles and I went to ACA meetings...ACA=Adult Children of Alcoholics or really any dysfunctional family would do. I learned there that the people that quoted the saying put the fun in dysfuntional were Asinine morons in denial or looking for attention...I really became grateful for the fact the whatever excess my family had and childhood abuse I suffered it was much smaller than the burden life had put on other poor souls..There in those meetings many dealt with child sexual abuse and many came from very religious families but in Los Angeles the amount of people suffering was a moderate minority of people..

I moved to the bible belt in the mid-nineties and it did not matter what recovery group I was in there was many people mostly women who qualified to call themselves incest survivors or survivor of childhood sexual abuse....There was no ACA to help them deal...But plenty of Christian Therapists to make certain they were sedated enough and remain christian enough for the Bible Belt....Alot of these women listening to their stories one could find that church was always in the background of the incidents...Many of the perpetrators were in the same church or religion and the religion nearly always denigrated women and viewed them as handmaiden to men....All were terrified to speak up when young because they were afraid that family and church would see them as unpure(that they had commited an sin that needed to be kept quiet to protect the family)...Now these young girls the inheritors of the mantle of handmaiden are being exhorted and bribed with a great deal of money to stay pure and never forget their first love DAddy...The problem is what happens to the girl that does not pass the purity test. What are her psychological problems in the future...Or do fundementalists just want the hymen intact..Another funny thing when I see the pictures of praticipants of these events they tend to be uber-white blond girl with hollywood thin bodies in white ball gowns...It is as though there is a tacit agreement amongst the fathers that fat girls do not count and those daughters can stay at home because the fat has nuetered them sexually....Are fundamentalists really that vain and stupid or maybe they did not think anyone would notice.

the American Sexuality Magazine has a Article about Women and their feelings of vulnerability in the public place...I need to say that a great number of women deal with the vulnerability with one quick and easy way weight gain. I have done it this way and I have seen many women Molested in childhood or raped as young adult deal with it as weight gain.. I have always wonder if the hatred and contempt that fat people generate in their thin counterparts due more to envy by thin people than anything else. I know from being a thin person and hearing other thin women state that the fear less for the safety of fat friends than thin ones in things like waiting for them enter there houses safely after dropping them off. I see this envy in modern fashion mag when an socially conscious editor brings in a story about Fatism(Yes the discrimination of fat people) it is innudated with letters stating that fat people need to grow up and lose weight..Is the need to be vicious to fat people because we can no longer can be openly mean to someones race or sex or sexual orientation and still be thought of as a thinking person...or is it that being thin is a burden and hard work and can place one in danger from violent sexual perverts..And it disgusts us that we cannot eat and are in danger..and push come to shove are thin people really that healthy especially with all that smoking..These little thoughts percuolate in the thin..leading to hostility and matyrdom of the slender..

Well today I was busy matting a large quantity of prints and packaging them for sale ... so when I finished with the computer and the printer I went downstairs to assemble them while listening to the Television..It was a sad night on the dish...I have a weakness I like true crime shows it comes from my childhood my father was addicted to True Detective Story magazines and I got hooked at an early age.. It got to the point were the liquor store guy would see me coming to buy soda pop and he would have the new mags laid out ...of course my father padded my allowance in case I found a mag he did not pick up it was a win win situation..

For years now I troll the channels looking for shows that I never seen before there aint that many out there....But I am an optimist when it comes to tv I grew up with 7 channels as a child so tv.. now days is bountiful and thank Goddess documentaries are popular nowdays..Unfortunately the court tv was all reality shows today and not any cases when I was watching..

So I put it on Nancy Grace and yes she does care about the victims but I know why she is not a prosecutor anymore She has no objectivity...Innocent before the law until proven guilty is a concept that she failed to learn in law school watching her makes you glad that real witch hunting is a dead sport nowdays unfortunatley Nancy's show proves that metaphorical use of the witch hunt in real life is alive and well...

I learned watching court tv is that the old Russian proverb Never marry a Deacon or a priests son is correct...If I had a nickel for good church going women who gets rubbed out by her husband I would have a Mutual fund acct by now.... If I had a nickel for how many good church going people who go on to massacre small town loads of relatives and friends before a savvy detective looked beyond the facade of respectability I would have a sizeable IRA going...

Yesterday a fashion Mag entered my possession the mail person brought it and today I went on a Marie Claire binge as I had not read any of them for 3months..It is a good mag and tries hard to be politically savvy. Unfortuantely amongst the writers is a faint whiff of contempt for feminism while trying at heart to be feminist in helping to better the women's lot in life around the world..This is the conundrum, the last thing women want is to be tarred with the any hint of feminism... It is like the women who want equal protection in the work place but politically distance themselves from the clear-eyed people trying to achieve it ... They want the benefits of feminism but they do not want the ridicule that comes with being a feminist.(abit chicken shit of mine and the next generation). It is as though we fear that good-looking and charming sexist will not want to be with us If we show some back bone and political radicalness..

I cannot chastize without admitting during the 80's I back down from feminism and sucked in my gut and bit my tongue and married a Charming sexist..It got after 5 years, me being kicked out and on my parents doorstep...Of course in therapy for being a recalcitrant woman because that is what we do to troublesome women. Today is Mother's Day and to the unfertile a problematic day..I could look at this day in two ways misanthropically or spiritually.>>I did not realize I had a choice..But in fact I can hate mothers day sorrowfully or cantakerously or view it as a day to celebrate DM the Great Mother the guiding intellegence of the universe...Thinking about it further I can do all three all day...I am not a person that tends to be impressed the title mother...Having been mothered badly as a child and viewing bad parenting as a constant in reality around me... I am not impressed by the title mother or father and do not fall to the ground in awe the few times that they get things right with their children...I do love children and believe that they need to be worshipped... I really getting irritated at human beings specism as a PETA friend calls it... Well Easter is over with a pleasant family meal and no talk of religion at it..Thank Goddess Quiet and the food was delicious my sister-in-laws cooking has improved a great deal since she started cooking diabetic...My downstairs is almost finished my obsessively watching Clean House and Niecy Nash has paid off I have a kitchen worthy of a small magazine spread now when I am depressed I just go to the kitchen look at it and sigh the sigh of a contented amatuer interior designer...Of course being the large and overfed children at heart that my husband and I are we have plastered fat and jolly dragons on the wall above the sink and stove using the excuse that the dragons will protect the paint job from splatters of grease and dirty dish water...Something a Style mavens would shudder at...But I believe any excuse to decorate with a Fairy or dragon or preferably both is a good excuse.

So reading blogs and listening to fundamentally bent acquaintances I get the feeling that people of the fundie persuasion wish to exorcise the ghost of pagan past from Christmas and now Easter...Unfortunately amongst the english that was tried by the Calvinists called puritans or roundheads...But they did not call it the pagan influence it was a push to get rid of popery and popish(catholic) influence in the Church of England....A civil war occurred in which many noble things were espoused and then religious fanatics took over england and the Massachusettes colony..the good old pilgrims made any partying a illegal...Any celebration of Christmas or Easter left one open to a large fine or the stock depending on your social class....This lasted about twenty years in which all competing forms of Christianity to the Calvinist were outlawed and many of other sects especially the Irish Catholics died in inhumane Pogroms by the puritans...

I did not realize that money was so hard to take care of. It made me wonder about Female instability, emotional and otherwise...When I am bored I watch crime shows usually documentary or real crime retellings of cases...It is a good way to gauge the moral fabric of a society and learn about regional social life(who are in power among the religious and political groups and who are the disenfranchised and thus easy targets to kill or scapegoat for a crime). I have noticed in the South that the homicide dectectives have a tendency when child murder or sex crime occurs. Sir Richard Branson has annouced a prize to anyone who can invent a way to get rid of carbon in the air that causes Global Warming...But there is a small minute way that a person can do so all ready....It is not spectacular, but if every household in America planted a flower garden, added a few new trees to the yard, planted a veggie garden(organic) and bought a plethora of houseplants the air around them would vastly improve in a small way, but a good and important way. Asians have a saying that small actions presage Auspicious events.....Most westerners are taught to look at the big picture and aim for the big thing that will accomplish the goal. That they miss the fact that a small act multiplied by billions of people can bring about a change.....

spring cleaning and death, fame and Tragedy

I have been working on my new room painting and cleaning it also this has led to greater endeavours in a first spring cleaning since I was hospitalized a few years ago... It does feel wonderful to be well enough to do a thorough cleaning of a house... Painting of walls, moving of furniture and making of handsewn curtains I love the physicality of it... This work has tired me out and left muscles aching in a good way.... Because of these goings on I have not had time to get politically indignant about anything and it seems that the only two things of newsworthy importance in America is the meltdown of a hollywood pop-tart and a death of a supposed sex symbol.... I told my husband Thank Goddess Elvis died in the 70's or our young adulthood would have been consumed by it....

For some reason women in the United States believe that Men will take care of them that deep down they care for the female sex. I make it a habit not to talk to neo-con family members about politics or religion...Because I do it as a courtesy and civilized behaviour. I simply do out of respect that they are blood...When Politics come up and they always do for a neo-con because like fundies they always believe that some story or e-mail that they believe is cute but really is an exercise in hate-spewing garbage is going to bring you back to the fold, I really try to grit my teeth and bear it... But since I have a blog I do believe that I can now describe and vent about how discourteous and uncivilized it is to send members of different political idealogues and religions beliefs, your political and religious tracts.

Today I recieved from three relations, three nasty anti-female and hate-driven e-mails about Hillary and her candidacy.... At first I was hurt because All these people know I am a feminist and that I am fond of Hillary...But then I decided that I will vote for Hillary...Why because when they the Clintons were in Office the first time they did a great job and second because I view sexism as great a crime as Anti-semitism and racism, not as a cute cultural anachronism.....So instead changing my mind with hate-spewed garbage that they view as cute parables of logic and common sense it made me realize that John Lennon was right that women are the nigger of the world... In case black people are offended, I am mixed race and using racism as an excuse for sexism is not going to work with me.... If white women want to co-opt civil rights for equal rights it is all right by me. I am not impressed by people of color spewing sexist hate-garbage at white women under to mantle we were victims of racism you are just neurotic white cows..... When they call you a Ho and Bitch in a Rap video they mean it about all women.. It aint cute street-talking eubonics for the urban set.

I really believe that only black belt feminism will save the world... The environment is reaching critical mass, as is the population. A few days ago a adopted some plants to place in my front garden one rose bush and a wisteria bush from Home Depot... I use the word adopt because I think I am becoming one of the nutty Hippies that used to live in my neightborhood in L.A. during the sixties before the Manson Family arrived and my mother became a verbal champion of Hippies,,,,, Strange for her since she was a Hawk and a staunch republican but she perferred hippies over bikers any time of the day and made certain everyone knew that... I had a friend in school who was named Meadow and also one who proudly announced to friends her mother was a Witch and Psychic I thought that was the coolest..... Halloweeen was a holiday made for children and adults knew this and behaved for one night of the year....

Then I grew up and married, got divorced and went into recovery and saw a shadow cover the land... It started with the demonization of atheists and agnostics in recovery literature and then I moved to the Bible Belt and in a moment of satori enlightment I saw recovery for what it was the last net of christianity trowling for converts among the ill instead of medical help for the sick..... I saw that I had a choice be part of the problem or be free..... To live life one must be constantly learning because reality is not constant..........to love life one must be willing to feel even if it is fear, anger or lust..... one must be willing to feel love and compassion..... the lesser emotions and the finer emotions are what make people> People without them we live in a state of shame and lack of understanding. To be able to empathize with someone you must be able to feel or have been able to feel what they are feeling.... Unability to empathize means one can not really form true compassion.... What one will feel for the other is pity and not true compassion....To be angry is to be alive, to be wrathful is to allow anger to grow from benficiality to an emotion hurtful and destructive....God does not feel wrath because She is too wise to allow Her anger to grow to such lengths... It is humankind that has placed on the Divinity a face of man and placed on Her what is weakness and rarely a true strength...... I am going to talk about fashion again. It is strange yesterday there was nothing on TV so I watched the style channel and watched more or less what they were going to try to shove american women into this coming year. It was hysterical and shows again the lack of imagination among the elite when it comes to what professes to be taste. This year american women with money will be made to dress like 18-year old drugutantes and starlets. As I watched I could only think Paris will be happy for she will have realised that she has made her mark on the fashion world. I saw nothing on the catwalk that working women who do not fantasize about being in a rap video could wear. I know that fashion is a frivolous prusuit and despite The Devil Wears Prada it is not going to change the world to for the better at least the way they are right now, the color cerulean or not. But can not these people at least pretend that they think a woman has a brain and is not moonlighting when she gets out of bed.

I know America worships youth it is nothing new read F. Scott that was his mantra in the 20's and 30's. I do believe that the equating young women and whoredom does women everywhere a disservice and it makes for the next generation a harder time being taken serious in the real world. Youth and excess do not need to be held as synonomous descriptives. I have seen many young people with discipline and many are young girls.... If we hold up to our young women the example of only whore or virgin than it is societies fault that they fail... Yes Style makers you are part of society and you need to step up to bat when it comes to responsiblity.... You love taking credit for a societal trend but when it goes bad you run from responsibility of starting it, quicker that deadbeat father on child support day.

Sitting here in the hinterlands of America I run across alot of people who think because they parK their arses on a pew every sunday they are superior to the rest of america, the heartland. My husband always says well they are close to the area but it is more like under the arm.(and he is a Native). These people are not offering young women any positive reinforcement besides signing Abstinent pledges which will give their young boyfriends more incentive to pop their cherries. I do not believe that adults have young people best interests at heart. If they did they would not start wars or vote in cretins that believe pollution is good for the environment. Why is there a need among certain so-called free thinkers to tell us how terrible something is?. That is being hidden in society and promulgated by a group of elite people believing themselves good, yet are devils handpeople. I grew up in the sixties and so I seen this going on with drugs. It is an update on the, I smoked a joint got hit by a car, testimonial we heard as teenagers. What we were thinking, as this was being told to us, was do not walk in the street when high, you will get run over. I did not think that pot was 100% to blame and why did not the car stop when it saw the pedestrian.

The local procescutor immediately associates the religious practices as causing said murder.... Why? yesterday for Imbolc I went to VA hosp for some poking and prodding . It involved fasting. When it was over I went over to get a donut and to take my medication. When that horrible veteran hating communist (not my Description but Neo con friends and family) Clinton was in office I would have gone to the commissary and had a four dollar lunch, but the military loving ex-vet Bush got rid of that. So I went to get a free donut. Something happened that never happened before I got carded and the donut was stale. The women needed to see my VA card before giving me a cup of joe and a donut. Before these donuts were for Vets and family members and were always fresh. It was then that the despicable nature of the Shrub family was revealed. Is Bush so evil that we need to demand that his new uniform include a fake moustache, a cape and a top hat. Must we also demand that he change his name to LeGree.

Does he sit up at night and think up new ways to achieve villiany. WAS he brushing his teeth one day last month and said to himself, "All that donut money! Those disabled Vets do not need it they are getting free medical help anyway. Yes, I found a way to fund the surge, Cheney will be sooo proud of me!!

The only other scenario is that America is so bankrupt it must CAge money from Disabled vets Donut funds. Then we need to start taxing religious institutions for getting us in this mess with a Republican government. But then they would have to have a voice in government. I need to talk about something that many people do not understand and use to spread hatred and ignorance. The belief that pedophile can be Gay. That is not true that pedophiles are homosexual despite what the preacher tells you. A PEDOPHILE IS A PEDOPHILIAC THAT IS A PERVESION AND A DISEASE. A pedophile can prefer one sex over the other, girl-children over boys...but they do not have any aversion to the sexual assault of children not of their favorite type victims sex, because to them having sex with a child is paramount. Many are married and have sex with adults of the opposite SEx, that fact in itself should blow out of the water, the pedophiles are Gay theory .

Another disturbing tread the Catholic priests are gay. Used to excuse the pedophiliacs in the church. 30% of child molestation victims are Female of priests. We hear nothing about them because the church is putting a, Why they were gay!, spin on why this tragedy and crime occured. Also young girls are of little concern to the religious community except to badger with Abstinence pledges. Because of Eve the female sex must and should suffer in matters of sex by god's order. This accusation of Gayness makes it easy for intelligent women to excuse the churches anti-female stance and still quiet the fear , that maybe feminists are right, the church is too corrupt and too entrenched with anti-female sentiment to be saved or even to bother saving. Accusing the priests of homosexuality allows all christian leaders to say to men that Jesus loves you don't go away it is the gays who are evil. Not the bible we are not anti hetorsexual sex just don't do it with good christian girl, unless married to her. Man-hating, Feminist and relationship.

I always wondered as a young adult why there was a word in the English language for the hatred of women and it is a pretty and fancy word. Yet, women are only allowed manhater or thanks to Rush( president of the little wee wee club) femi-nazi. It seems that some men were so proud of their woman hating that they need a fancy term to justify it. Why he is not a man who hates women, that's gay, He is a mysognist. May- be it is just that before women got book learnin it was way to hide from some poor future wife or mother-in-law the true nature of a man.

But do feminists hate men or is it the behaviour that some men do and the attitudes of these men been taught and developed, that feminist hate. Yeah women are and were oppressed and so there are bitter feminists. Then there are the feminist that know, yes, men can be so much more better, I prescribe to that philosophy. I found that as with any relationship, if you need to pander the person and stroke their ego when it is already large to begin with then unhappiness will reign in the relationship.

Number one marriage for me was case in point. A man who cannot respect their partner and find at least one talent worth bragging to the world. The need for that man to continue telling you nasty things in hope of improving your character bodes badly for the relationship. If a man needs to improve you it means you are not the person he wants or really cares for. It is that future somebody is the apple of his eye. Having been on the recieving end of that behaviour I Can tell women who like save men or view them as projects. The men you are with know that it is not them you love , but that future somebody and that is what is making them so angry.

I would like to talk about abstinence and the movement since it has been daggled by fate in my face for the last few weeks. First I read in a fashion mag Glamour about abstinence ball called purity balls. The imagery was cheesy, sleazy and sick in nouveau riche fundie style that is so popular in the Bible Belt. Image TExas poptart promising to love honor and obey daddy until singing boyfriend is given permission to pop It and that is a purity ball with ballerinas and pseudo-antebellum rituals like walking under swords to officiating witnesses, a nice Militaristic touch because when we are dealing with teenage hormones an imperialistic attitude is needed. I wonder if the term Emotional Incest was ever introduced to these people. They keep blathering on about how good a father's attention is. That girls with good relationships with their father do better in school, go to college and have high powered careers. What they do not say is that neither hell nor high water are they going allow little petunia to have a career. They will make sure to arrange a traditional marriage for the little flower. I do not think these people understand it is the quality of the attention that the daughter gets from father matters not the quantity nuerotic attention.

Patriarchal Father can be very attentive, unfortunately, to the children they have The Barretts of Wimpole street comes to mind. It is an attentiveness garners for the children large psychotherapy bills and for the unfortunate few time spent in battered womens shelters when becoming adults. It is very hard to watch a grown woman who has never been taught to think for herself and see religious organizations circling like vultures wanting to tell her what to think. The problem with the abstinence movement is that it goes against Human Nature most teenage girls do not want to have sex, they want a boy to love them and be affectionate. Their bodies are still getting used being fertile to really want or enjoy sex and procreation. I need to talk about sadness AKA depression, melancholy, sorrow. Sadness is described by many poetic words. Some expletives and some slang. When I think of sadness the three words above is what I usually think of to describe it. Pessimism and cynicism are by product. When people think of sadness it is always in the negative as something to get rid of. I am by definition a sad person a trait that runs in my family and the two races that gave birth to me. I wonder why a race would be immersed in sadness, why a family would have it for a trait. Depression is a clinical disease I have yet I am known for my sense of humour. I had a relative who used to say "If it gets any worse I am going to need to laugh." I think it meant that when I reach my sadness saturation point I will need to find humour in the situation. I believe all great humour that is poignant, potent and penetrating is bourne of sadness and nursed in cynicism.

Among the sad we really enjoy gallows-humour that perky people find morbid or offensive. We poke fun at society because we like to jerk the chain of complacent happiness addicts and perky people. Sad people are angry because we are sad because sadness is painful and because society wants us to be perky people. That way we do not joke around at inappropriate times and poke fun at sacred cows. But we need to liberate our sadness. There is beauty in sadness look at all the great poetry and songs sadness has given birth to in humanity and we kick it around like an old dog or worse an old girlfriend or boyfriend.

I believe that before curiousity, it was sadness that caused mankind to develop. My cat is curious and she has yet to build a stone temple or learn to cultivate grain crops. Now I do suffer from Depression and do take meds. But I still am a sad person so I know that sadness is not a disease but depression and its inertia is. When in my twenties in the 80's I used read the success books of captains of industry. What I learned is that as they climb the ladder of success they are rarely bothered by sadness or deep introspection. Which makes it easier to throw competitors to wayside. Hey the successful accumulation of wealth does not mean you have the finer emotions. Just be happy with the next bright ball wealth brings you.

Depression is an illness. depressed is not feeling sad but being engulfed in sadness. Its like the difference between being highly imaginative or being delusional, like being pious and being obsessive compulsive about your religion that you need it plastered around you 24/7. It is not so much quantity of sadness, though it can be a sign, but the quality. High quality melancholy creates the blues, depression kills the singer with drug fueled excess. Alot of artists say they cannot create if they have a mental illness and treat it with drugs. BULLSHIT I have seen people who were talented become focused and great artists when they recover. In the old generation of medication most of them had a sedative affect that did hindered creative work and just living, but that has changed. The clearer the mind, the higher the intellect and the more focused the creativity. You can be on medication and use your sadness now at healthy level to create beauty in the world.

Sadness does not kill but to treat it as a anathema to the human soul creates a climate that kills people for they fear it, to the point were they deny it, allowing it to grow unhindered in a climate of fear and they die trying to self medicate. Or we teach people to medicate any uncomfortable feeling making children and adults complacent happiness addict spending their lives chasing the happiness fix.

I am getting off the merry-go-round and accepting my sadness acknowledging the pain and beauty of this emotion. In Asia the most compasssionate being and the most beautiful being in the universe is Kwan Yin. Everyday she sheds every tear ever shed or will ever be shed easing the pain of the sorrowful as she cries. I think of that as most kind and beautiful thing to do. That even though I am sad and crying that along with me cries Kwan Yin willing to ease my sorrow. Sadness also gives birth to empathy.

I need to write that my disillusion with fashion stems for reading a great deal of feminist and renunciate literature in my youth. I realise that fashion is something that is in the core of women. Over the centuries it has always been woman who made and created fashion, the 20th century male fashion designer in womens clothing was non-existent until industrialization of western society. By studying mens affect on women clothing one sees a disturbing trend starting in the renaissance, of women bodies being reshaped by men and corsets. With industrialization comes a hatred of the natural and love for what can be created by industry. The environmnt must be tamed reshaped along with the human body.The hatred of the natural body of a women is seen in the extreme disfigurement of the female body that reaches its height in victorian times in the west and now it has returned with the worship of the anorexic by runway designers. But to be fair men in the past also reshaped their bodies with the same devils contraption the corset. WE hear a great deal about the stupidity of women and corsets but Victorian males were just as addicted to theirs. The trend of anorexia as a beauty ideal is also crossing genders.

My belief is that the culture mavens, the powers that be really do not want to see people happy and satisfied (let us not expect fullfillment). Why, are they so naturally evil or is that at night when they go to sleep, in million dollar mansions and/or condos, is there a hole in their souls. Does this hole so bother them that to see a happy and content poor person bothers them to no end. Is the need for them to have asthetic beauty so unnatural and plastic that it seems to be unattainable to every one, except those with money, who can make them richer and obsessive/compulsive teenagers. Is this the true goal of their professional existence.

To wear clothes is political statement as great as not wearing them. I see goths everyday and as a young adult longed to be brave enough to be punk. Today I cannot wait to be small enough to shop at Hot Topic and embrace the dark side. In the Bible Belt the most subversive thing you can do is either wear a pentacle or dress as a Goth. I love Goth Kids and admire them, they are truely brave. Although I admire her charity work I do so miss Angelina's goth alter -ego.

I realise when I look at some fashion mags that looking like a tasteful expensive clone is their end all and be all (Glamour a big felon in this). Much creativity is disappearing in Women. Fashion is becoming a uniform of conformity to good taste and over consumptive spending. Do we really need a 5000 dollar handbag. Maybe the rich need to spend more on taxes. They do use airports and the toilet. Maybe they should be made to pay an unfair share taxes like the poor and middle class. Why when we talk about fairness and not overburdening people it is the rich and corporate america who make it sound like they are one step away collaspsing from the weight of their burden. If you do not wish to be socially responsible, then giveaway your money and try being poor, you will love to be in a high tax bracket after that experience. If you refuse to pay your burden, then give up all wealth you made off the american people and go live somewhere else. No one ever became wealthy in a vacuumn it was off the backs of someone else that true wealth is accomplished. You can at least pay for the some of the chiropractor bills of those people.

Today I was surfing the web and hit a couple of fashion mag sites. I like fashion because to be honest part of me is shallow and likes pretty clothes even if they are made by slave labor. It is like diamonds I think they are beautiful but since the 80's I have not looked at them seriously to buy because of the amount of human pain that goes on in producing them. To be honest fur coats are pretty but again I am not saving up for the pure reason of the pain factor it takes to produce it. But regular clothes and steak for some reason I can find a way to ignore the pain factor. I am not a person who believes that because I eat a hamburger, it is all of a sudden premissable; I can and should wear a mink coat or a blood diamond, sometimes a line must be drawn in the sand of of morality and personal responsibility to the world and an adherence to causing as little pain and harm while existing in the world. The greatest gift I have been given in the world is the lack of wealth. To some people in the world I am poor but to many others I am very wealthy. I do not have a great deal of disposable income and so for me I am extremely lucky that true immoral behaviour is out of my reach. I will never have to worry that I have paid for a purse or a pair of shoes an amount of money that most Thai families do not earn in a single year.

Here in America there is an obsession with the accumulation of wealth even churches are getting involved with seminars and workshops. ON how to get cherry with Christ and be a miser. I do not know how Christ is viewing this obsession among his followers but I do not think having read his words in the Bible that he is very happy about it.

So I believe that we need a new movement in which Obsessive and obscenely large amounts of money owned by people is viewed as moral deficient and anathema to the human spirit. Obscene wealth and spending should be viewed with the same distaste as Pedophilia and Racism. Maybe them the human race will start to learn personal responsibility and grow up.

YOGA , FASHION and new year

Happy New Year Since the Solstice life has been good I truly have decided that self improvement is really the quickest way for a angry melancholy person to find some serenity, but for it to work you Need to go into it with zero expectations and an inquisitive mind. I have been practicing yoga for more that a year for the benefits in treating my arthritic back and it work s (best book-Relief is in the stretch by Loren Fishman MD>) I have changed my practice to included weight loss and I am getting in the philosophy of yoga it is a area I have flirted with off and on since being a teenager. It is working to help me become truly centered and accepting of myself and my body. Having been a bulimic and a sometime anorexic and now obese this gift of Yoga is a true blessing Thank Goddess. I have found that refusing to use a scale and accepting the changes in my body in clothing size is a better way for my eating disordered mind to take on weight loss. I also must accept in my heart that, failure is an option I respect my body and mind that weight loss is not what they need to be working on with my eternal soul now. I am lucky that now is the right time to return my body to healthy weight. Two years ago I was blessed with giving up on my addiction to nicotine and I began working out at a gym to spend less time craving cigarettes and lighting up. So I believe that I can safely and sanely loss weight is the insane diet obsessed world. A healthy analogy I use with my mind is that I should view my body as a predigree pet like an Akita dog or a show horse. I should fuss over the food, health and exercise of my body as said pet. For me this is a new way of looking at my body. I unfortunately was exposed to a great deal of body, sex and sexuality hatred in the religion I was raised in. Too many stories of matyrs and the body maiming they exposed themselves to, left me with a skewed look myself, my feminity and the material world and life. Enjoyment of life was to be viewed with suspicion so very few things could be enjoyed. Food and eating where one of the innocous joys as long I stayed thin.

It disturbs me as a woman that the fashion industry in America refuses to join European countries in protecting women against Against the disease of Anorexia. In baseball they are taking steps to protect atheletes from harming their bodies in training with steriods. Yet American Fashion INdustry is so arrogant in their power hungry need control Womans bodies that they are willing kill and develop in women a disease to FEEL a POWER HUNGER RUSH. I have a friend in the fashion industry who SAYS Gay men who hate women are for it, OBSCENELY THIN MODELS, that is homophobia, Anna Wintour is not a gay man. I disagree I believe that these fashion designers and editors nerds in their youth and now the have the power to tell beautiful women that they are less than unless the are half dead. These people covet these beautiful womens aura and are so enraged by envy and coveteouness they will kill them so the they do not enjoy their good fortune. To allow a half dead girl walk down the runway shows only this. I HATE WOMEN, I HATE TRUE PHYSICAL BEAUTY AND HAVE NO AESTHETIC CONCEPT OF PHYSICAL HUMAN BEAUTY, I AM POWER HUNGRY, I HATE AND COVET THESE GIRLS LIVES AND GOOD FORTUNE, I AM EVIL. Now is the winter of my discontent..... Not this year though business ventures have failed and We are financially in a bucket strangely I am in a good mood. maybe venting on the net is psychologically satisfiying and good... I hear so many bad things said about modern life but my honest belief is the toilet, runningwater and airconditioning trump everything mankind have created,including watching the resurrection and the Fall of Troy. I have a appreciation of modern life given to me by spending many a summer in state and national park living without these gifts of civilization. But I do wish I could see something of the past it would be to the medditerrean when it had spruce forests covering it. America before industialization. Those parts of the past I do Idealize and wish to see. But I do not wish to live in the past only to return earth, nature and wildlife to its healthy and pristine state of being, before Yahweh gave us Earth to do what we will, Without Her permission. I honestly believe that humankind can be technologically advanced and live on a ecologically sound and healthy world. I believe It will cost money to create this world but unlike conservatives I do not believe in living in my mothers house for free and not cleaning up after myself. That is what my little two story house is for.

I personally do not wish to live in time or place though they still exist in many places on earth, where I am only considered a repository for male sperm. People who think the present is nasty and bleak and perverted I have bad news for you, the past was also nasty and bleak and perverted to at times. We do not remember because chances are we weren't born and did not experience it or were young and too naive to understand it. OH well. I had a psychologist tell me once that an adjustment in attitude could change the dimension in which one lives. Norse believe it can also change the past as well as the present to them time is fluid not a river flow but an ocean tide ebbing and flowing.

Thank the Gods no one has wished me a merry christmas. Probably because I decided how to reply this year and I am not letting out the signals of an insecure rabbit. No one is pouncing on me for saying Happy Holiday to them like last year. If someone says Merry Christmas to me I say Thank you. wandering, Whining and "HEAVEN FORBID DANCING

As a little girl I took dancing lessons ballet I had no talent and really wanted to fence but I developed a love of dancing for ballet and really any kind including whirling like a dervish it seemed that through movement I truly quieted an agitated mind and soul that I had even as a child. I developed a distaste for physicality due to abuse by friend of the family as a young child. But dancing was my joy. I find it ironic no matter how conservative a culture is it cannot destroy dancing among the common man and woman. people need dancing for it is the one true way for the soul to commune with the divine in physicality. It is a gift. Like the dancer so poor that the only gift he could give his Goddess was his dance. everytime a person dances in boundless joy, creative concentration everytime their souls are uplifted or forgets the pain of disconnect from the divine, the divine , grows brighter and strong., ones soul is recharged and good in the Universe is recharged. It is win win and boosts the metabolism of body , mind, heart and soul. good for the diet of the soul and body.
After 15 years of happy marriage my husband loves to dance with me in fact he has told me I am the only woman he ever asked to. Now at Harvest Balls he dances happily and contently. Dance truely is given birth to by joy.

This brings me to the Gods, Eurynome in particular AS a girl I loved reading about Greek Gods and it is strange I do not worship them. But the description of Her in particular haunts me, inspire me and emboldens me. She who loved movement to so much she created the ebb and flow of the universe out of Her dance and brought forth the cosmos. She the divine progenitrix creating the physical world out joy. Unlike other religous beliefs Her Material reality is to be savored enjoyed imbued with enthusiasism and love of physicality Her Nirvana is to join the dance of molecules and atomic particles and subatomic material and line dancing with string theories. It is not a world to be escaped but to be embraced. I Know for me Heaven would be six years old whirling to the Monkees, dancing a polka, cutting the disco rug, putting on the Ritz.

Children should not wander the world is too dangerous, they should explore under unobtrusive but watchful Eye. Adults should wander constantly continuously through life alone or with partner. Physically, mentally, ,spiritually,philosophically and polictically. When a person tells me they believe everything that their parents church school etc. taught them as a child I truly pity them. No One is omnipotent and NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH. at least on earth. I am Certain someone is omnipotent in the Universe but She is too big and too Omnipotent for my stuck in the material world brain to wrap around. Do I Want to know the TRuth DO CHILDREN REALLY WANT TO KNOW IS SANTA IS A MYTH. I really have no wish to be on a phallic quest for ultimate Knowledge. Most people don't want to know god they want to tell him what to do. That is why so many religous folk cannot keep their noses out of other peoples business. well The christmas war front seems quiet. But then This year I am firing the first salvo in the trench wars of religious ideology clashing, My holiday cards were unrepentant in their Heathen appreciation of the Yule Season. My husband was amusing today as we shopped for our Solsitice gift to each other this year I got a juicer I am going to explore the raw food diet... I have always wanted to be a Vegetarian and very much admire Vegans. I have only been able to be a vegetarian for three years in my life. In my mid-twenties when I gave up smoking and took up long distance running I was a lacto-vegetarian with occasional lapses with egg products for two years and two years ago I quit smoking again and was a vegetarian for a year as I started working out again. I very much lack extended focus in staying vegetarian as I donot believe that I should force my dietary beliefs on my husband who is a unrepentant carnivore who tries to be a omnivore whenever I vegg-out.

To me vegetarianism is a spiritual choice not just a dietary one being a Vegan to me is part and parcel in living a spiritual life, one good way along the path of being a modern world renunciate. It seems everytime I quit being a veg is when I get entangled with buddhism I start not wanting to be a pain in the ass and revert to omnivorism. I would like some help and tips anecdotes and old fashion advice from modern day spiritualists and mystics on how to incorporate spiritual vegetarianism in to my life and not be a pain in the ass or a matyr. I always thought a happy renunciate is a good role model may be that is why I am attracted to Tibetan Buddhism, their monks and nuns are always so calm and happy. Today My inner soundtrack is composed of seventies perky tween music that I listen to when I was a middle schooler. Partridge family and monkees fluff. People say that tabloids are ruining society because we now gossip about celebrities. Honestly I would rather gossip about someone who makes millions of dollar acting than my neighbor or best.friend. I have really found it easy not to dwell on the sexual misdeeds of prominent people who work hard on the appearance of virtueousness..////

Maybe that is the reason for many a supposed good persons fall. The concern with appearance virtue in their life instead of cultivating true virtue in their lives. To blame the people around them, of forcing perfection on them. Is really blaming ones associates for ones character defect and not individual whose defect it is. But really if a little person was caught doing so we cluck and shake our heads and say bad breeding, bad education or not enough of the right religious belief. Today I ended up arguing about religion. I really wish I could remember what my husband says to every time this happens "don't argue about religion neither side ever wins and everyone just gets all heated up. But since this is my blog I will discuss it. It started out as a talk about South Park and conspiracies and ended talking about seriously for the other person how the rich who run the world worship satan and pagan gods and have been doing this since the days of old Babylon. I have heard the satanic theory and the rich before, hell(no pun) Kubricks last movie was about it. But I thought they worshipped satan and an owl. This incarnation is lucifer and Janus the Roman god of doorways "read as openings and passages in reality and metaphor". To me these theories are adhered to by people who were educated by reading piffle written by so-called historians educated in religious schools masquerading as colleges and universities when what they really are is extended sunday school or story time for adults with money to waste. These theories are popular because it allows people to say that the dominant institutes in control of social behauvior , religion "read Christianity" has nothing to do and has not help create the mess that the world is in. Maybe this arguement flew in 200 AD. But having killed all the pagans in europe centuries ago and more or less destroyed them among native americans and captive africans I these beliefs are scurrilous and base and without honor. I was reading a news article about a woman and her children brutally murdered. IN it a woman acquainted with the Family stated that we must turn to God Because only He can explain events like this occuring. Please Religous People Think before you use a tragedy or a crises as a platform for our religous beliefs and the conversion of unbelieving masses. I know you mean well but God does not come out well in this use of Her name. It gives some people the view of God allowing this to happen so that She can step in as supersage and enlighten us. Our worse is an ambulance chaser. It is really bad when family members use their tragedy to witness for whatever religion they believe in. Yes they are in great pain unfortunately in trying to use this as a missionary moment they are not psychological dealing with pain. Sometimes God cannot answer our questions, sometimes the light goes out briefly. Sometimes you are not witnessing for God but deluding yourself with religious platitudes, deal with the pain. REalize that everyone feels pain religious, atheist, spiritual or mystical. IN the end they all learn to deal with it or perish with divine help or self-reliance.

Surging Tides

Today I watched Spike Lee's new documentary everytime I watch something made by him I am blown away by his ability to chronicle the culture, times and mindset of late 20th and early 21st century America not just black americans but simply common man america. His works of fiction and documentary speak eloquently of the universiality of ordinary people while embracing the black persons story we see in the hardship of a people, everyones humanity. With this story of the leevies breaking he has shown that this is tragedy of all america. When my brother is hurting I am hurting when a black american is hurting all america is hurting.

I was discourage to see the lack of progress in the gulfstates. But I must acknowledge I have seen recently in the federal government situaitons I have not experienced since the Reagan Administration. There is A great deal of incompetence in the burueacracy It seems endemic in republican administrations. Especially when dealing with the concerns of people without much power and wealth. THE second problem is that when THE INCOMPETENCE is exposed and angry victims of it are demanding redress of the problem. The government reacts with incredible vindictiveness to these poor people. It is never covert abuse that can be sued it is trailers sitting empty because of paper work. Most of their tactic is creating miles of paperwork and witholding help through ommission. Never receiving any paperwork always happens to the most frustrated people files. I have seen it happen to disabled vets since the Bushes have been in office. They spend money to beautify hospital garden while refusing to buy up to the minute and new medication for the sick. I have seen them refuse in southern VA hospital to put an Asian American vet on life support He got on for a week only because an Asian resident bravely countermanded to supervising doctors order after he left the ICU unit. I never saw the resident on that floor again.
The next day the doctors started tormenting the family to pull the plug.

Yes New Orleans ain't going to get much help because they were just too uppity getting angry about their abuse they didn't take it like a man. I can just see it and have seen it. Makes one wish for Clinton back.

friday night fright

Well today one of my favorite shows can back for a new season. It's on HBO and it is a political panel discussion show. I liked today's show because one of the panelists was a Pseudo-Intellectual.... He was a Brit that was espousing the New Republican Spin. Yes Bush is not very bright, but look at Clinton he changed his mind with very book he read HE WAS GASP!!! a ditherer and a reader. But Bush he might be dumb but he can recognize an enemy and a threat. I have a bird dog that's dumb as a brick but he can recognize an enemy and a threat, as nice as that trait is I AM not recommending the republican party make him president. Clinton may have been a ditherer but when it came to meeting out justice to Al Qaeda he did it by not embroiling us in a NO WIN war. There was a reason Colin Powell did not Go into Iraq. It was his experience in another NO WIN war Vietnam. Clinton just bombed the bastards. Clinton Knew how to be succinct and to the point. He was not perfect in foreign policy ignoring Rwanda was a huge mistake.

Another thing I love is price of gas. The oil companies have been swearing that there has been no price gouging, the president has sworn, the republican party swears it also. So why two months before the election prices are mysteriously lowering. Do these people honestly believe that we will not expect the prices to go up after the election, I do. Anyone who votes republican expecting the prices to go down Needs to seriously sue their school system for producing such ignorance or declare themselves brain dead and ready for organ harvesting.

Summertime is passing by quickly and thank you for that. Soon it will be labor day that wonderful holiday immortalized in the movie with William Holden, Kim Novak, RosalindRussell
and Susan Strasberg. Labor Day a holiday dedicated to the worker and unions. In this era of unbridled greed by corporate interests it is a bit of an anachronism. As the rich become obscenely wealthy and the working class more oppressed I wonder if the fading middle-class have realized that their partnership with the conservative leadership and religions are the cause of their slide in to the grave. It seems that the middle class bourgeiouise attitudes in the end will destroy them. Their need to legislate conservative morality will in the end destroy any financial and class gains they and their ancestors have made. Already it is easier for a lower class person to enter the middle-class in Europe than America. The first time ever in history America is slipping the middle-class is losing ground and money quickly, while rich are becoming wealthier as the percentage of multi-millionaires are becoming billionaire and now trillionaire is the next goal for them.

The sad thing is that most americans believes all these billionaire are making wealth for society, but sadly this is not the case. The billions of dollars is coming into their pockets by paying slave wages, taking away benfits and salary packages that are a tiny step away from embezzlement of retirement funds of employees.

The silent movie Metropolis showed a bleak future. Now in the new millenium instead of Europe evolving into worker slavery it is America beating path to this future.

A Little thing called Common Sense

I was surfing the net when I came upon a debate on gay marrriage. I truly thought that I had fell down the rabbit hole or maybe grew wings and landed on kukuburra land. For one thing it is not a discussion on gay marriage it was a discussion on limiting marriage and marital rights to select people. These people would have select rights and priveleges granted to them the way in Nazi Germany and Communist countries Aryans and Party menbers , had or have rights others do not have.

The arguement was twofold for legislating discrimanation. To protect children and uphold the sanctity of judeo christian values. Both arguements are meant to elicit a knee-jerk mentality reaction that many americans practice and are proud of, known as old fashion values. Sometimes what you are smelling is not a misnamed rose But stinkweed. The arguement about children is that we must turn heterosexual unions into members only country club. With said affliation belonging only to heterosexuals. Since heterosexual child molesters and death row inmates are by law allowed to marry I see no logic in this arguement. When heterosexual perverts, criminal and murderers are allowed into the country club, yet law abiding, tax paying and mentally sound homosexuals are barred . How is this going to protect children, it does not even protect adults. Also many heterosexuals are marrying yet opting not to have children, said people are CHILDLESS, does this mean that said union are no longer sanctified and thus null and void. IN the eyes of the child protector it would seem so, as marriage is viewed as a vehicle in which to procreate children and raise them. Will this also mean that Single parents are no longer legally parents as they are not raising their offspring in the sanctity of government legislated and approved unions, how Orweallian. Will the government someday decide that the functionally mentally ill and challanged heterosexauls should not wed. After that will the diabetic and obese, addicts and people with history of familial cancer not wed to protect future children from future illnesses.

About religion I will be brief, will the government in the future start legislating a state religion will those of us who get married in a circle or an alternative religious ceremony someday find out their marriage is void. No this is not a debate on Gay Marriage But The Limiting of The Civil Rights of Law Abiding Citizens, You do not have to like Will and Grace or Queer Eye TO SEE CLEARLY that it is not the rights of only homosexuals but the rights of all americans including the children, of which statically some will grow up to be gay, that will be legislated away.

To those of you that say the republicans would never do anything that bad. This is a party that could not find New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama for a week after Katrina. Do you really want to place the protection your Civil and Human rights in a government that Can only be efficient when giving the top 7% of the country a tax break.

I have always wondered if there is a gremlin associated with computers. It seems that no matter what one does no matter how large the letters spelling NOT TRASH on the post it with your user name and password is always missing from where you tack it up on your organizer. I know from childhood to appease an angry domovoy you need to clean house and get out the vodka and a nice piece of pastry. Though my husbands domovoy prefers oreo cookies and chocolate milk. I wonder if skittles and mountain dew might calm the little beastie.

Living in the provinces is interesting. Its news stations here are great for a laugh there are not any real investigative reporters out here. The only story in months has been the evils of hybrid cars and how the _Bush non administrations is protecting us from the perversion of alternative fuels. I do not think that the station was listening when the president accused us of being oil junkies in need of too big a fix. It is bad when the source is telling you to cut down your score. That speech went over their heads. But this state is a Texas wannabe. My husband was surfing the dish a few days back when fox, which rhymes with a four letter word if you have an accent, news demonstrated its normal lack of acuity by stating Gas prices are going down. Good thing about the bush non administration is that it has taught us not to get our hopes up. The price of gas climbed up ten cents a day later. I guess the oil companies think americans in will close their eyes and shout I believe in fox news and while blinded conveniently miss the 10 cent hike.

Yes the bush non-administration has taught americans two new pastimes pessimism and taking civil and human rights away from defenseless minorities. God Bless the USA

My two great beefs in life one reading a book and finding out it is number 4 in set of six book with chronilogical order. Happened to me in my childhood with the narnia books colored my perception of the series darkly. I did not like the sappy ending of the series and by the time I reached the first book I was tired of seeing another witch and powerful woman character demonized. That summer I decided to read all the books I could find in the glendale library about elizabethan england I had just discovered shakespeare. Narnia was suppose to be my escapist reading something to relax after wading through Knox's sermons about his peoples sixteenth century dress, womans sluttishness(he makes rap singers seem like enlightened feminists) and Queen Mary of Scot(she offended his male sensibilities greatly being female and smelling of popery which is different from modern popurri).

Second beef watching a show being advertised giving the impression to one certain demographic that it is friendly to their interests or belief. When said person gets interested in watching it they find themselves bombarded by another demographics belief system. Case in point the movie with jennifer lopez and jim caviezel "something" angel the trailers gave you the impression you were going to a psychic thriller ala sixth sense. The movie unfolded itself and became an experience on par with a bad ACA (adult child alcoholics)meeting.

Not only are cheesy message movies using this blatant false advertising but the BBC has adopted it. yes the people who gave us "upstairs downstairs"," the wives of king henry the eight" and numerous classics has fallen to television cheesiness, shell game hucksterism, apocalyptic fundementalist fairytales. It all started with campaign that heaven forbid could it be possible true pagan and witch friendly show. A but the truth, as my old world russian mother would say, is never get our hopes up because God will always disappoint you, went in another direction. A rosemary's baby heading to left behind in a hallelujah chorus direction. I must say though the woman vicar at end the of the pilot was a nice show to any recalcitrant young lesbians that there is a place for you in the fold. Subtlety is not the hallmark of this show.
